With the recent Coronavirus outbreak swarming the news, the impact of the media has brought this newest disease scare to a global scale. Many news outlets and media sites have taken to spreading misinformation or information about the virus that has caused unnecessary panic and fear in people around the world. Media platforms such as news outlets are meant to be sources for people to acquire information about certain topics. We should make sure to double check the facts with other sources to confirm the validity of the initial source. Discrimination against others as a result of lack of understanding should not be tolerated. We should aim to spread accurate information that is reliable such as promoting healthy behaviors and sharing information that can help people.
